DESCRIPTION:Date: Friday\, May 15\, 2026 \nTime: 11:30 am – 2:30 pm ET \nPlace: Big Woods Speedway (1002 N Main Street\, Speedway\, IN 46224) \nCost is $35 per person \nTickets to track are not included. \nEvery year\, the ASCE MIB\, in partnership with ITE\, IRWA\, ISPLS\, and WTS\, hosts an Indy 500 Fast Friday event. Fast Friday got its name because it is the last day of high-horsepower practice sessions before qualifying. With increased turbocharger boost\, it is a prelude to Pole Day\, pushing cars to the month’s highest speeds. As with last year\, the event will be at the Big Woods outdoor Beer Garden and adjacent Saloon in Speedway. These two venues have a total capacity of 155 guests. Each year\, the number of attendees continues to increase\, with last year being 105. Big Woods has a parking lot\, and there is ample parking along Main Street (Posted 3-hour limit). \nThis is an excellent networking event with an open bar (drink tickets will be provided) and a friendly\, light-hearted atmosphere! DESCRIPTION:This certification program provides a comprehensive body of knowledge to the surveyor regarding their relationship with the National Flood Insurance Program. Surveyors play a crucial role in the entire NFIP system. To adequately perform the duties to fulfill NFIP requirements\, a surveyor must expand his or her knowledge on this specialized aspect of the profession. \nOver an intense three-day period of instruction\, the surveyor is exposed to the many flood issues\, including the National Flood Insurance Program\, Code of Federal Regulations Title 44\, Flood Insurance Rate Maps\, Letters of Map Change (LOMA\, LOMR-F\, LOMR)\, no rise certifications\, and the Elevation Certificate. \nFollowing this training\, there is a four-hour exam administered to assess the surveyor’s floodplain knowledge. \nDate: November 11-14\, 2025 \nTime: \n\nTuesday\, November 11\, 2025\, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.\nWednesday\, November 12\, 2025\, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.\nThursday\, November 13\, 2025\, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.\nFriday\, November 14\, 2025\, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.\n\nLunch will be provided Tuesday through Thursday. \nPlace: ISPLS Headquarters\, 1st Floor Conference Room (3502 Woodview Trace\, Indianapolis\, IN 46268) \nRates: $595 for ISPLS Members | $695 for Non-Members \nProgram: View the full course schedule here. \nFacilitated by: C. The course is designed for licensed land surveyors to enhance their knowledge of floodplain management issues. \n  \nOnce a candidate obtains the Certified Floodplain Surveyor Certificate\, is there an expiration\, and/or are there continuing education requirements to maintain the Certification? \nOnce you become a CFS\, you are required to take a four-hour refresher course every two years. Currently\, there is a course available on the NSPS website. There is no testing\, just the refresher\, most especially required as FEMA periodically changes regulations.
